Our staff responds to circumstances that require sudden, emergency, or immediate care, such as life-threatening injuries, medical issues, and accidents that have occurred suddenly. The term "critical care medicine" refers to the ongoing treatment of patients who are either gravely ill or in need of advanced medical attention.
Our Critical Care (ALS) ambulances are staffed with experienced Critical Care/Emergency/Trauma RNs with the following training/certifications: ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS, Trauma Nursing Core Course, and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course. Also, part of the crew is an EMT with advanced training in critical care transports. Our RNs are also trained in endotracheal intubation and can also administer medications and IV drips that are provided by the sending facility, including Blood transfusions. We can transport patients requiring a Ventilator, Balloon Pump, LVAD, and High Flow Nasal Cannula Oxygen.
